My dad is the greatest feminist
- Dad: Hi, I'm driving home listening to NPR and they are talking about Susan G. Komen defunding Planned Parenthood. I called Mom, she sent them a really strong letter yesterday about it.
- Me: I know, it is so upsetting.
- Dad: I'm so mad. We are giving Planned Parenthood a big donation. We have to stand up to these people, I will not take this quietly. I'm on your side, babe.
It really depresses me to look through the notes on a post and see that so many people have reblogged it with things like “kill everyone” “burn them to the ground” and similarly violent statements. Yes, Fox News is ridiculous and frustrating, but the desensitization to and flippant use of violent rhetoric is appalling when Republicans do it, and is just as appalling when liberals/socialists/libertarians/anarchists do it too.
